Disappointing End for The Oakland Raiders

raiders

The Raiders have not won a Super Bowl since the early 1980s and have not attended one since 2003 when they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Since that game, the Raiders have been on a streak of losing seasons.

Then this season came around.

The Raiders ended the regular season 12-4 establishing themselves as one of the best teams in the AFC outside of the Patriots and the Chiefs, and only two seasons ago they were going 3-13.

As a Cowboys fan, I know that many of us were thrilled about the reemergence of our team this year, but I think the only fans that came close to matching that excitement were the Oakland Raiders fans — and I have to say it was really refreshing to see.

Unfortunately, Raiders fans were dealt a crushing blow when their quarterback, Derek Carr, broke his leg during the final weeks of the regular season.  This injury undoubtedly compromised the team and their ability to be successful throughout the post-season.

Saturday, the Oakland Raiders lost to the Houston Texans 27 to 14.  During that game, replacement quarterback for the Raiders, Connor Cook, threw three interceptions that drastically hurt the team.

Would the Raiders have won if Carr had stayed healthy? Maybe, but at this point all we can do is speculate.

Condolences to all the Raider fans out there and happy playoffs.
