Recently, Hypeline reported on an event hosted by Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) at Ohio State, specifically aimed at attendees and supporters of The David Project, which educates students about Israel and offers trips to Israel.
One of the organizers of the event, Yousef Yacoub, a student senator, threatened to personally impeach and target any student senator who did not attend. Since then, Yacoub has gone into a further meltdown on Facebook over any opposition to the event called “But, I am Palestinian” and is also claiming he has been harassed for his views. Hypeline requested proof of the harassment through both e-mail and Twitter but did not receive proof. An e-mail from the author was ignored, but tweets to Yacoub were responded to. Yacoub accused Turning Point of being a hate group, accused Hypeline of defamation, and then told us to ‘leave him the fuck alone’.
Yacoub has stated or implied in Facebook posts in the past two days that members of Buckeyes for Israel have been threatening and harassing him, “extremists” are threatening his life, and that members of Buckeyes for Israel followed him to his car and keyed his car.
“All e-mails that were directed at me, will be investigated by the OSUPD detective investigating my case, and all findings will be submitted to legal counsel. So, don’t say I did not warn you resign before I impeach/fire you. “
However, there are no police reports filed by Yacoub in the Ohio State University campus police log for the past three days, nor the Columbus police log.
Around 6 A.M. Yacoub commented on his own post saying:
“DID YOU THINK THREATENING MY LIFE WAS GONNA SHUT ME UP, YOU ONLY ADDED FUEL TO MY FIRE LOL. I AM LIVID”.
At the time of publication, Yacoub has yet to present proof of his harassment.
