Omarosa Manigault will be taking a position in the Trump White House team focusing on public engagement, as reported by the Associated Press on Wednesday.

The Trump team released a statement Wednesday afternoon officially announcing the hire.

Omamosa, who typically goes by only her first name, was a top African American surrogate for Trump in his presidential campaign. She also served as the campaign’s director of African American outreach.

Her title in the new Trump administration will be assistant to the President and director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison.  There she will focus on issues like community outreach.

Omarosa became famous after she spent nine weeks as a contestant on Trump’s reality TV show, “The Apprentice.”  Even after being fired on the show, she still remained close with Trump.

This will be the second time that Omarosa has worked in the White House.  She once worked in the office of then-Vice President Al Gore during the Clinton administration.

Prior to campaigning for President-elect Trump, Omarosa had publicly supported Hillary Clinton and President Obama on social media.

Of course, these comments were posted long before Donald Trump launched his campaign for the presidency.
