Immigration policy has taken the forefront national discourse heading into President-elect Donald Trump’s first term in office, and a handful of American cities have vowed to defy attempts by his administration to stomp out illegal immigration.
Sanctuary Cities” created by rogue mayors directly oppose Title 8 U.S. Code § 1324 – (Bringing in and harboring certain aliens), an immigration criminal statute that addresses shielding the of illegal aliens in United States illegally.
Congressman Lou Barletta has for the third time since 2011 introduced legislation that would “strip all federal funding from cities that fail to cooperate fully with immigration law enforcement activities”.
On January 5, Barletta’s office published a press release titled: “Barletta’s 1st Bill Of 115th Congress: Defund Sanctuary Cities.”
This press release highlights Barletta’s introducing of Mobilizing Against Sanctuary Cities Act, H.R. 83, which will strip all federal funds from “sanctuary locations”.
His immigration policy was formed after his peaceful town was invaded by a violent Dominican and other Latin narcotics-trafficking gang that partook in violent felonies.
Although he confronted the Bush Administration and asked for federal assistance in confronting this influx of aliens, he was denied. He was consequently sued in federal court by advocates for illegal aliens and lost.
Barletta is now considered one of the most prominent figures in Congress regarding Trump’s planned immigration reform. His consistent vocal support of closing and securing America’s boarders earned him his role on the executive board of president-elect Trump’s transition team.
On September 3, 2013 Congressman Lou Barletta on the campus of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University spoke at a a town hall meeting, covered by C-SPAN, on the topic of “Immigration Policy and Homeland Security.”
